Stanton Engineering assisted the Engineering Evaluation team in evaluating the fire safety/egress compliance of the existing industrial facility. We reviewed existing design drawings, facility operations and hazards, as well as engineering criteria to validate compliance with applicable codes. In addition, we completed emergency event timed egress calculations and fire event tenability analysis study. We were also asked to evaluate the feasibility of several alternative technical design approaches to modify building emergency egress, smoke exhaust, as well as the fire alarm and detection system’s installations. Concluding the design phase, we reviewed project documents for Quality Assurance (QA) purposes to verify compliance with government standards. Deliverables included several engineering reports with findings, engineering calculations, and recommended code criteria. We also performed periodic and final contractor design document reviews as part of the Instant Permit process for Baltimore County Plans Review; this included periodic site installation inspections as well as witnessing and approving all required site installation final testing. |
