Stanton Engineering performed the fire safety/egress compliance of the existing 300,000 SF warehouse owned by Erasmus Properties and leased by C. Steinweg (USA) Inc. We reviewed existing building drawings, facility operations and hazards, as well as engineering criteria to validate compliance with applicable codes. We then proceeded to evaluate the feasibility of several alternative technical design approaches to modify the building’s existing emergency egress, as well as the fire alarm and detection system’s installations. Next we performed water supply analysis, designed a new underground piping system, and followed this with a complete design for a dry-pipe fire suppression system to coordinate with the desired storage commodities. We assisted the installing contractor with his design and performed the necessary document reviews to allow an Instant Permit to be issued by Baltimore County Plans Review. We performed periodic site installation inspections and witnessed all final occupancy functional inspections. |
