Stanton Engineering has been providing numerous fire protection and life safety engineering services for the Architect of the Capitol (AOC) since 2006. The AOC is responsible to the United States Congress and Supreme Court for operations, maintenance, preservation, and enhancement of the approximately 17.4 million SF of facilities under its jurisdiction. AOC facilities are federally secure and historic buildings that include business, industrial, storage, and assembly occupancy uses. Within AOC, the Fire Marshal Division (FMD) is responsible for oversight of AOC’s facilities for compliance with national and AOC adopted fire codes and standards as they relate to fire and life safety features and systems. Stanton Engineering provided fire protection engineering support services for the FMD inspection program task order, which included three discrete elements: Fire Element, Data Acquisition and Verification Element, and Inspection Program Management Element. The Fire Element consisted of the inspection process to physically identify and document all observed fire and life safety issues within AOC jurisdictions which do not comply with the AOC Fire Protection Policy. The Data Acquisition and Verification Element ensured the initial field observations were formatted properly by the field inspectors and entered into the facilities Compliance Tracking System with up to date locations, code sections, code subparts, and images. The Inspection Program Management Element included the preparation, tracking, and documenting of a comprehensive schedule to include inspection milestones and deliverables for an on-time performance. The task order’s efforts include reviewing and verification of both past inspection findings, performing physical site inspections in AOC facilities, inputting inspection findings into the Compliance Tracking System, updating code citations within the Compliance Tracking System, resolving issues within the Compliance Tracking System, developing reports on the findings including a presentation for organizational heads and their staff, and attending various meetings with AOC organization heads and staff. |
